what I get from this article is that the Doctor and Amy went back in time to meet Van Gogh, helped him, but in the end he died anyway

I rewatched the promo for the next episode of DW and I got myself wondering if the things in the TARDIS - those he can’t speak of - aren’t somehow related to the companions

like, an echo of them, stuck in there forever to haunt him

and that’s why he’s so scared of them
